Well, this is it. The end of 2015! *cue drum roll*
It’s been a crazy busy year for me, much busier than any other year, and 2016 is looking to be even busier. In this end of year review, I’m going to give a rundown on all of my releases in 2015, a rough idea of what is coming up in 2016, and a list of some of my favourite reads of this year. Buckle in, this is going to be a long one. This years releases!
January saw the release of THICKER THAN BLOOD my first co-release with Madeline Sheehan. If you love zompoc mixed in with dystopian world building and a touch of romance, this is for you. This story was one that I had been thinking of writing for a long time, and I’m so pleased that I got to write it with Madeline. Two friends who survive at all costs. It really is the ultimate survival book. It also brought you ODIUM II THE DEAD SAGA in Audible, something I was extremely excited for. It was once again narrated by the wonderfully talented Jennifer Reilly. And finally, AT HELL’S GATES 2: ORIGINS OF EVIL a charity anthology where all proceeds go to the INTREPID FALLEN HEROES FUND. The book, and in fact the series was the brain child of Shana Festa, and has stories from some amazing horror and zompoc authors. February STATE OF HORROR ILLINOIS was released on Audible, and it was a blessing to be able to hear my story – Out Come the Wolves – come to life. March brought you ODIUM ORIGINS A DEAD SAGA NOVELLA PART TWO on Audible narrated by the extremely awesome Hollie Jackson. (fyi: The eBooks in the series have now been rebranded to – Odium 2.5 The Dead Saga) I signed with Michelle Johnson of Inklings Literary Agency this month, and I want to say a massive thank you to Michelle for taking me on her books. I’m looking forward to releasing some great books with her in the future. April brought my loving readers the third instalment of ODIUM THE DEAD SAGA, and it was again well received in the zompoc world, which was a relief. As with all sequels, the next instalment in a series seems to bring on even worse publishing anxieties than a standalone. So I’m glad that the series is still going strong in your hearts. It also saw the release of THICKER THAN BLOOD in Audiobook, and it sounds amazing! I attended my first book signing as an attending author in London, which was so brilliant. It was great to finally meet so many of you and sign your books. I also got to meet some really fantastic authors which I had only ever spoken to online. May was a busy month behind the scenes, but not for you readers. I didn’t release anything, but I was very heavily working on two different projects. June saw LIMERENCE (THE OBSESSION SERIES) available for purchase on Audible, narrated by the wonderful Johanna Fairview. It was a beautiful thing to finally hear these characters come alive, since these are the ones that started this crazy journey for me. I also published my second book with Madeline Sheehan this month – SHUT UP & KISS ME – it was also my first dabble in the contemporary romance market. As you may or may not know, we hit the USA Today list with this book, and I’m extremely proud. July saw LIMERENCE II (THE OBSESSION SERIES) available for purchase on Audible, narrated once again by the wonderful Johanna Fairview. I attended my second signing this month in Birmingham, and it was truly brilliant. The event was organised by the lovely Cassandra P. Lewis who is also a very talented author. I know I’ve met a friend for life in this crazy chic J I also got to meet fellow horror author J G Clay and his wife, and am looking forward to future drinks with them both! I’m pretty sure he owes me a pint ;-) August gave way to SHUT UP & KISS ME in Audiobook where Mila and Will were given a voice J It also saw the release of BENEATH BLOOD AND BONE the second in the THICKER THAN BLOOD series, written with Madeline Sheehan. What can I say about this book? I love it, I adore it, and it seemed that you did too. Eagle turned out to be your ultimate bad boy, and you fell as hard for him as Mad and I did. September was a quiet month, where I gave myself some much needed rest…yeah right haha so I didn’t have anything release, but I did begin writing Odium 0.5 October’s release was TWISTED MAGIC RAVEN’S COVE SERIES BOOK 1 in which I gave you the first glimpse into the world of witches and forbidden romance. I’m kind of in love with these characters, so you can expect much more from them next year. November brought you THE WITCHING HOUR COLLECTION which is a limited edition collection of witch novellas and includes the first part in my Raven’s Cove series. It’s only available for another 24 hours I think, so you should definitely grab it while you can. It’s on sale and includes 10 stories. December brought you the long awaited ODIUM 0.5 THE DEAD SAGA. It’s a 60k novel on Nina’s life from right before the apocalypse hit, and includes her time behind the walls, giving insight into why when we meet her in ODIUM she’s such a major bitch. I’ve been asked for a long time to write this book, and well, I put it off because I knew it was going to be a hard book to write, never mind to read. This story will rip out your heart. That’s my warning to you. You can purchase my audiobooks here http://adbl.co/1VsiVPn And my eBooks and Paperbacks here à http://amzn.to/1YRzwlg Upcoming Work
My Favourite Reads of 2015
As you can see, I’ve been a busy girl this year, * wipes sweat from brow* Broken Magic Raven's Cove book 2
Okay, so on to some of my favourite reads of the year. Some may not have actually released in 2015, and that’s okay, these are just some of my all-time favourite reads in 2015.
Well, thankfully Daryl has decided to grace his eager fans with a series of follow on novellas, and I for one can’t wait to read them! This book is brilliant, as I knew it would be, and I simply can’t wait for the second in the series to release early 2016. Eli and B.V.Barr make a fantastic writing team. Upcoming signings
I’m signing at quite a few places next year, so I’ll list them all here for you. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all in 2016.
So that's it, my year in review. So much has happened, so much has been read, and so much has been written! Almost 500'000 words were written this year! And I'm not slowing down in 2016. I truly can't wait for you to read my upcoming work.
So now a thank you: To all of the amazing authors out there that continue to write such fantastic books that transport me to their worlds. To all the bloggers that have helped share me and my work this year. To my amazing Street Team – Little Reds Dead’s—you are all so very awesome, and I smile every single time I see a notification come up from you. Thank you for making ‘our’ Street Team somewhere safe for all of us. Because that’s what it is – a safe place to complain, to cheer, to pimp, and to chat, and I’m blessed to know each and every one of you. Thank you also to you, my wonderful readers, I hope I can take you on many more crazy journeys in 2016. And finally, thank you to my family, for all of your support and encouragement all year, I love you all. That’s it, I’m out of here. See you on the other side! Claire x
