![]() I’ve just been tagged in a writers blog chain: The next big thing, by two great authors, Jaclyn Aurore and Michael Matula. We answer the same ten questions, and then tag five other wonderful writers in our post. Since most of the great writers I know haven’t got blogs or websites etc. most of the writers I’m going to tag will be similar to some other posts, but ho hum… Q1. What is the working title of your book? That’s easy peasy… Limerence. Q2. Where did the idea come from? I read an article a couple of years back about some woman who was obsessed with her boyfriend and had tried to kill him. In the article they used the word Limerence. I thought it was a beautiful word, and subsequently came up with the book idea for Limerence. Since I already loved anything supernatural, vampires, werewolves and what not, it was pretty much a given that the book would have something supernatural in it. Q3. What genre does it fall under? Well that’s a tricky one. It’s a sexy supernatural romance, but also has quite a bit of thriller and horror in it. I like mixing up genres and trying new things out. So I guess it would be: Horror, fantasy, romance, and thriller. Q4. Which actors would you choose to play in the movie rendition? I’m doing a celebrity poll on my website at the moment for this, so that the readers can decide. I never had anyone in mind when I wrote the book. However, my choices would be. Mia: Evangeline Lilly Mr Breckt: Tom Hardy (or one who isn’t on the list as I thought of him too late, Dylan Mcdermott. Did someone just turn the heating up because it is hoooooooot in here!) Oliver: Liam Hemsworth (be still my beating heart) Chris: Jonathan Rhys Meyers Rachael: Emma Stone (hilarious) Q5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? One man’s dangerous obsession is so deadly; it could destroy them all. Q6. Will you be self-published or be represented by an agency? Well, I’m obviously open to representation. However I am certainly going to self-publish for now at least. I see no reason not to. The Indie market has grown so much, and I feel that as long as you’re willing to put in the time to promote your book, and it’s well put together and edited properly… well why wouldn’t you? Self-publishing doesn’t hold the same stigma that it used to, well only to book snobs! Q7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript? Five months. I actually started to write the book a couple of years ago and had to stop due to health problems. Then the birth of our youngest daughter put things on hold for a while longer. Q8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Hmmm, I’m not totally sure, or perhaps I’m being modest? I’ve been told it holds a resemblance to Bram Stokers- Dracula. That was pretty damn flattering. Also, someone said Charlain Harris’s true Blood series. Apparently the sexy vampires reminded him of it. Personally I just wanted to write something that was true to life. I was sick of reading books and shouting at the pages, “you just wouldn’t do that!” So I’ve tried to keep the style, speech etc. as natural as possible. Q9. Who or what inspired you to write this book? My children. That sounds so wrong as there’s a lot of sex and blood in it, but what I mean is that, we are big readers in my family and I wanted to be able to write a book and have my children be proud of me. Maybe they can read it when they are A LOT older. Maybe. Q10. What else is there that might pique the readers interest? Limerence is a term used to describe the ultimate and near obsessive form of romantic love. Vampires can compel humans to do as they please. Love is supposed to conquer all. So what do you do when all three things are in play? It’s a love triangle that breaks all the rules. (I’ve been told it holds something for both men and women too!) Now for the next links in the chain. As I said before, a lot of the great writers I know don’t have blogs or websites, and the ones that do have already been linked so some of these are probably duplicates, but ho hum… http://www.lucettecohenfins.com/ http://jraineylostprincess.weebly.com/ http://www.lionheartgalleries.co.uk/Fiction.html http://fatmogul.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Finger-Bones-Series/229155180433981
